For water conservation and best use, please do all lawn and garden watering before 11 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. daily. According to the Minnesota Turfgrass Science staff, ideal watering for lawns is after 8 p.m. and before 5 a.m. daily. It is beneficial to lawns to water when the sun is not shining n the blades. Hand watering and children's toys are permitted, but please conserve water whenever possible.

Other tips for conservation when watering the lawn:
  • Turfgrass needs only 1" of water per week maximum.
  • Do not water when windy.
  • Adjust sprinkler heads to prevent water from hitting streets, sidewalks and driveways.
