Absentee voting for Presidential Primary begins January 17

Eligible voters can vote in the Presidential Primary beginning Friday, January 17, 2020. If you are eligible to vote in Minnesota and have not yet registered, you can register at the time of absentee voting, or you can register on Election Day.
The Election
Although the Minnesota Caucus will still be used for other offices, the Presidential Primary is how voters can have their voice heard for the office of President in 2020.  Voters are required to select the Democratic or Republican Party to vote in this election. Other major parties chose not to participate in the primary. Voters who refuse to select a party are unable to vote in this election. Although your party selection is private, it will be provided to the political party by the state.
