The city council will review letters that were received and may appoint any individual who is eligible for election to the office of the city council.  Generally, to be eligible a person must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the city, and at least 21 years old, and eligible to vote.

The city council meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Meetings are at 7 p.m. with tentative work sessions scheduled between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. depending on needed time. Each council member also serves as a liaison to different commissions or boards as determined by the council.
