Mechanical, plumbing and zoning permits must be paid online prior to application or a check must be included for the permit to be processed. Please include a copy of the online payment receipt with the application.
City of Shorewood building permits may be applied for using forms downloaded below. For projects with new construction, additions or projects where the plans are larger than 11 by 17 inches, completed forms and materials should be submitted on paper and may be placed in the applications drop box outside the front door of City Hall located at 5755 Country Club Road. For other projects, the application forms and plans may be submitted electronically to email@example.com. Permits under $400 can be paid online. A payment receipt for online payments must be included with mechanical, zoning and plumbing permits if a check is not included with the permit application. Fees over $400 may be submitted by check using the US mail or the utility drop box outside city hall.
Other tips to keep your project on schedule:
- Plan reviews take 2-3 weeks, depending on the volume of permits at the time you submit. Plan reviews for incomplete applications do not begin until after the missing materials are submitted.
- Some inspections may be completed by video or picture, rather than in-person.
- Due to the current volume of inspections, please make inspection appointments at least 72-hours in advance and make sure the affected work is completed prior to the inspection to avoid reinspections. If you have questions, please contact the building department.
