A variety of commission and board opportunities are open to Shorewood residents. Read below to learn more about these unique opportunities. 

Shorewood Park Commission
The Shorewood Park Commission serves as an advisory commission to the Shorewood city council. The commission is a volunteer board making recommendations to the council on city parks, park and recreation activities, and city events that are under the park and recreation program. Read more

**September 2023: The City of Shorewood is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Shorewood Park Commission. The opening is due to the resignation of a commissioner. The appointment will be for the remainder of the term for the current seat, expiring in February of 2024. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Deadline to apply 9/24/23. Shorewood Planning Commission
The Shorewood Planning Commission serves as an advisory commission to the Shorewood city council. The commission is a volunteer board making recommendations to the council on city planning and development issues. Read more

Lake Minnetonka Communications Commission
The LMCC oversees the cable franchise and the local public access television studio. All meetings are held the third Tuesday of the month, with the full committee meeting quarterly and the executive committee meets eight times per year. Read more

Lake Minnetonka Conservation District
The LMCD reviews permits and licenses, such as special events, multiple docks and charter boats. The LMCD considers lake management issues and other issues such as Eurasian Watermilfoil and Zebra Mussels. Read more

Minnetonka Community Education Services
This advisory board is open to District #276 residents. This board advises, promotes and supports community education programs, services and budgets. Read more
