Hennepin County District 6 Special Election
Hennepin County has scheduled a special election for Tuesday, April 9, 2024, to fill the vacancy of Commissioner in District 6.
This vacancy is the result of the resignation of Commissioner Chris LaTondresse who announced his intention to depart the County Board effective September 21, 2023.
Candidate filing is expected to open on January 30, 2024. 
Hennepin County Commissioner District 6 includes 66 precincts and contains areas of Deephaven, Edina, Excelsior, Greenwood, Hopkins, Long Lake, Minnetonka, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, Northern Eden Prairie, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, Tonka Bay, Woodland, and Wayzata.
If a special primary is deemed necessary, it is slated for March 26, 2024.
